Dear Festividder (and treaters!),

Thank you so much for taking on one of my prompts! As you can probably tell by my requests, I'm a big fan of goofy, happy vids from goofy, happy fandoms.

I enjoy all kinds of music styles (though I admit to favoring upbeat and/or fast-paced music). A few favorites music artists of mine: any pop from the 1980s (Erasure and Depeche Mode in particular), Madonna, B-52s, She Wants Revenge, Cake, Black Keys, Jamiroquai, Beck, Tori Amos, Muse, Goldfrapp, Nine Inch Nails, Postal Service, Smashing Pumpkins, Franz Ferdinand, The Aquabats, The Weepies, the Indigo Girls, Led Zeppelin, Tool, They Might Be Giants, Fischerspooner, VAST, The Faint, Metric, and Zero 7. Just some ideas--seriously, go with whatever moves you.

And for tone, though I love goofy/happy, I'm happy with any kind of theme or pairing or mood that strikes you.  I like slash, het and gen in equal measure.  I really can't think of anything you can do with any of these sources that I would totally hate, so go nuts!

My RequestsCollapse )

Thank you very much for festividding with me!

Hugs, BQ

Mostly borrowed from last year's letter :)

Dear festividder (and treaters),

Thank you so much for taking on one of my prompts! I enjoy all kinds of music styles, though I admit to favoring fast-paced/uptempo songs, and I particularly enjoy vids with attention to beat work and movement.

Some favorites music artists of mine: any pop from the 1980s (Madonna, Erasure and Depeche Mode in particular), B-52s, Cake, Beck, Gossip, Scissor Sisters, Chromeo, Black Keys, La Roux, Tori Amos, Muse, Goldfrapp, Nine Inch Nails, Postal Service, the Indigo Girls, Led Zeppelin, Tool, VAST, The Faint, Metric, Adele, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Interpol, The Shins, Dead Can Dance, and Zero 7. Just some ideas--seriously, go with whatever moves you.

And for tone, though I love goofy/happy, I'm happy with any kind of theme or pairing or mood that strikes you. I like slash, het and gen in equal measure. I'm not as big a fan of scary or violent vids, but you might convince me.

Thank you!  And happy Festividding!

Title: We Can Work It Out
Song by the Beatles
Source: The Princess Bride (1987)
Vid by boom_queen
Length 2:16

Summary: "Try to see things my way." A Festivids 2012 vid for imaginarycircus.

Download the mp4 version here 94 MB (feel free to ask for a re-upload if it disappears)

Streaming at YouTube (Note: give it a minute to start loading before you hit play, so you don't get skips in the middle!)

Vidding notes:
I had a specific song in mind for this vid, made a complete rough draft with that song, and then my beta was awesome/honest enough to point out that it really didn't work. So I started over--yikes. I was able to re-use several of my favorite ideas from the first draft. And now I'm super happy that I did start over because the song is a much better fit and it provided much more opportunity for humor.

I'll post a more extensive Dear Festividder letter later, but I'm super squee-ful about festivids sign-ups.

If you've ever considered [community profile] festivids, you should give it a shot! It has been a source of major joy on both the giving and receiving ends for several years, and one of my favorite fannish things in general.

What I'm RequestingCollapse )
