Yesterday was International Femslash Day, w00t for the ladies!

So I wasn't a very organized fangirl when I was reading a lot of femslash fic (and lately I've been reading non-stop boy!sex...), so I can't find half of the awesome stuff I've read to rec, but I've got a handful of fics and then a BOATLOAD of amazing femslash vids to rec.

I'm having a huge DUH moment. I've just fallen in love all over again with a vidder that I already KNEW was awesomecakes, because I *airquotes* just discovered a huge cache of gorgeous and awesome and wonderful Kara vids by her: superduperkc.

So I'm here to show a little love to KC. Because she seriously rocks my socks. And because I feel like a doofus for not realizing that she had vidded more in BSG fandom than Battlestar Inferno and Passive Manipulation (both of which I've rec'd before).

All Fired Up - the kind of kick-ass Kara action vid that makes me want to pump my fist in the air and dance around my living room like an idiot
Scratch - the kind of achey S3 character study that makes me just fall for Kara and her gorgeous broken-ness all over again every time

Gah, I just got completely gobsmacked with a HUGE j2-au plot bunny while working out this morning, like the kind that could inspire me to write a longer fic than I EVER have (and in a fandom I've never written for no less), AND I have the new BSG ep all downloaded and ready to watch on my laptop.

So why am I flailing? Because I have to go to work and there is not enough time in the world do all the fannish things I want to do!!!! I just want to stay home and write all day, and then watch a bunch of awesome TV!

In the meantime, I'm distracting myself with that comment-meme that K and A did. Big hugs to all the regulars on my flist (M and D are tied for the top spot *smooches to both*) and waves to all the random people who've commented on vids :D

I'm just bursting with flist love and admiration right now, because y'all are kicking some serious ass I have to say.

bop_radar just made the most gorgeous and nuanced Lex Luthor vid to Paranoid Android by Radiohead.

It's complex. It's intense. It's BEAUTIFUL. And it may be one of the best damn vids I've ever ever seen.

Other fandom joys of late:

It is worth mentioning the awesome multi-fandom vid by giandujakiss to Squeeze's Hourglass. It's all about time loops in different shows, including Buffy, SPN and SG, and it strikes a marvelous balance between humorous and poignant.

I also cracked up hard at 1) this v v serious picspam essay on intertextuality in Supernatural; 2) QoT's hilarious crack!fic RumpelGaeta; and 3) millari's Gaius and Gaeta epistolary catfight.

Also? My appetite for J2 AU is apparently boundless right now. Here be more recs than you can shake a stick at.

So much wow it cannot be contained.

I'm just aching and enthralled after watching this vid. It made the hairs on my arms literally stand up.

Well, it only took me EIGHT MONTHS to get my act together after my last vid. Granted I finished grad school and got my 'real' job in the meantime...but STILL. Unexcusable absence from vidding!

I had the idea for this vid ages ago, but it was more like a crack!vid bunny at the time. Then S4 happened, and I finally had enough footage to support my crazy-ass idea, and it got all character-driven and achey. I want to hug my Chief even more after making this. Seriously--the man needs a hug.
